Russian scientists developed unique generators of electromagnetic pulse. Academician Vladimir Fortov considers this invention to be a serious achievement. The whole lot of work performed under supervision of academician Gennadiy Mesyats allows creating generators emitting very short and high-power pulses. Peak capacity of such generator reaches billions of watts, comparable to nuclear power plant capacity.
Above-mentioned developments allow producing new radiolocators with greater range and resolution than existing ones. New generators can help to imitate noises from nuclear explosions or lightning strokes, which can be useful for testing durability of energy objects and systems.
Data, obtained form the research, can also be the basis for electromagnetic weapon development.

Abstract --- Method involves exposition of object to heavy microwave flow in some bandwidth, detection of spectrum of reflected signals from object at even harmonic frequencies, measuring amplitude-frequency response of reflected signals, and using it for detection of working frequency which is most suitable for functional destruction of object. Then density of microwave flow is increased for this frequency. Then method involves repeated exposition of object to heavy microwave flow in some bandwidth, detection of spectrum of reflected signals from object at even harmonic frequencies, measuring amplitude-frequency response of reflected signals, which is compared to initial response. Analysis of difference between responses is used for judging functional destruction of object. Corresponding device has relativist microwave generator, transmitting antenna, resonance compressor of microwave pulses with tuning system of its resonant frequency and input connection, receiving antenna, which is connected to harmonic signal detector through band-pass filter. EFFECT: detection of emission frequency, which is most suitable for functional destruction of radio electronic circuit.

Abstract --- Method of functional damage of semiconductor radio electronic facilities includes irradiation of object with flux of high-power SHF radiation with frequency f1, sounding of object with SHF signal which has such frequency f0 that f1 <> 2f0, 4f0, 6f0, smooth rise of density of flux of SHF radiation with frequency f1, uninterrupted recording of responses from sounding SHF signal on frequencies 2f0, 4f0, 6f0 and stopping of irradiation with high-power SHF radiation if parameters of harmonic responses change. EFFECT: uninterrupted control over state of radio electronic circuits of object.
