New Auto Motor
Motor fuel costs can be cut to 5 cents a gallon, claims Walter S. Rohn, consulting engineer, of Needham, Mass., with an amazing new automobile motor he has invented that has no spark plugs nor connecting rods. Like huge Diesel engines used to power ships, it will burn low-grade oil instead of gasoline. An odd-shaped cam on the crankshaft receives power directly from a roller mounted on the piston. Heat generated by terrific compression ignites the fuel in a "slow" explosion.
