In the case of The County of Ramsey and the County of Hennepin, v. MERCORP Holdings, Inc., Mortgage Electronic Registration Systems., et al., the two counties, on behalf of eighty-seven Minnesota counties, filed a class-action suit alleging that the Lenders’ use of MERS System deprived the Counties of recording fees for mortgage assignments by allowing parties to bypass recordation with the Counties causing the loss of statutory recording fees and creating gaps in chains of title.
The counties assert that they are being denied revenue from the failure to file each and every home mortgage following a sale.
More importantly, this practice leaves homeowners, who may be current on their mortgage payments or may have totally paid off their home mortgage, to being vulnerable to having their home seized because they might be paying the “wrong” mortgage company.
In other words, America, when you write out your mortgage check, you cannot be sure that the company that you are writing the check to really holds the note to your home.
Ray Charles could see that this practice is wholly illegal and fraudulent. EVERY SINGLE HOMEOWNER IN AMERICA IS NOW VULNERABLE TO THIS HEINOUS PRACTICE!
The Eighth Circuit also declined to certify a question to the Minnesota Supreme Court as requested by the Counties of Minnesota. The Circuit Court erroneously ruled that, “ … because we believe Minnesota case law establishes that Minnesota law imposes no duty to record a mortgage or a mortgage assignment with the county recorder…”
This is where the ruling gets interesting and casts the court in the light of being a criminal accomplice after the fact. The Circuit Court amazingly cited a number of Minnesota Court cases interpreting the Recording Act that find that recording is permissive. (See e.g., Jackson v. MERS). The Court proclaimed that the district court held that the wording “shall be recorded” in the Recording Act does not require recordation of land transfers, but instead informs parties where they should record their instrument if they desire the benefits of recording the security instrument, namely providing notice of the lien and its priority. In other words, it is now legal to steal and to commit conspiracy in hiding the fact that the bank/title company is engaged in theft.
To add insult to injury, the Eighth Circuit held that a county did not and cannot state a claim for unjust enrichment or public nuisance against MERS “when there is no duty under state law to record mortgages or subsequent assignments.” In other words, it is legal for MERS and their related criminal enterprise organization are permitted to reap benefits from this criminal racketeering system.
Understandably MERS was thrilled with the ruling; “We did not believe the claims behind this case had merit,” said MERSCORP Holdings Vice President for Corporate Communications, Janis Smith. “The appellate court’s ruling, once again, confirms the legality of MERS and its business.” Legal to steal? Thank you Ms. Smith, you are setting a fine example for your friends and children with your twisted view of ethics, morality and justice.

7. Loop Wheel

Sabre Engine
The makers of the Synergetic Air-Breathing Rocket Engine (SABRE) have secured the necessary funding to fire up their hardware by 2020.
The SABRE engine is designed to use jet propulsion to power an aircraft from standing to five times the speed of sound in the atmosphere. The engine then switches to rocket mode, which could push it to speeds of Mach 25 – nearly 20,000 miles per hour – easily enough to get into orbit.

Free-piston engine is a linear, 'crankless' internal combustion engine, in which the piston motion is not controlled by a crankshaft but determined by the interaction of forces from the combustion chamber gases, a rebound device and a load device.
The purpose of all such piston engines is to generate power. Scientists have long pondered why we sleep. Despite being nearly ubiquitous across the animal kingdom, the exact role of slumber remains an open question. While multiple studies suggest that, in both rodents and humans, it helps consolidate previously learned memories, the question of whether new information can be learned while snoozing has yet to be answered. A study published today (August 8) in Nature Communications reports that the sleeping brain can learn new information, but only during rapid-eye movement (REM) sleep, the stage when dreams typically occur.
"One of the most interesting results of the current study is that the encoding of sensory memory is specific to certain sleep stages," Thomas Schreiner, a postdoctoral researcher at Radboud University in the Netherlands who did not take part in the work, writes in an email to The Scientist. "While the authors made first steps in characterizing the neural circumstances of learning during sleep, clearly more research is needed to clarify the neural underpinnings of those processes."
To assess people's ability to learn during sleep, researchers played various acoustic patterns embedded in white noise to participants while they slept. "We decided to use [white noise] because it was a good example of something very complex . . . and we were interested in seeing whether such complex automatic learning could be performed during sleep," says study coauthor Thomas Andrillon, who conducted this work as a doctoral student in Sid Kouider's lab at the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris.
Andrillon and colleagues monitored 20 healthy human subjects during sleep using electroencephalography (EEG), electrooculography (EOG), and electromyography (EMG). Throughout the night, the researchers introduced a number of novel sound sequences during wakefulness, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, and non-REM sleep. The next morning, the team tested the participants' ability to identify the acoustic patterns they had heard during various sleep stages.
"We saw increased performance . . . for sounds that were presented exclusively in REM sleep compared to new ones," Andrillon says. "But where it becomes very exciting is. . . we saw that participants were worse at detecting the repetitions in the sound that they heard during non-REM sleep, compared to novel items."
Upon further analysis of the participants' EEG signals during sleep, the team found brain waves characteristic of learning during the lighter stages of non-REM sleep, which were absent during the deeper phases of non-REM sleep-suggesting that learning suppression was specific to this stage.
Andrillon says that the results could help resolve two different theories of sleep's role in memory.
On one hand, some scientists believe that sleep helps actively strengthen memories. This theory is based on the observation from multiple studies, mostly in rodents, showing that the sleeping brain fortifies memories by reactivating the network of neurons that were involved in learning the task the previous day.
Others, however, have posited that sleep helps maintain homeostasis by freeing up the brain's limited resources. These researchers hypothesize that snoozing helps the brain forget by diminishing synaptic connections, causing weak links to disappear, and allowing only the strongest associations to remain.
"These two views are largely opposing, and the novel contribution of this study is that it basically says it's neither downscaling nor strengthening, but it's both, [depending] on the brain state," says Christoph Nissen, a professor at the University Clinic of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy at the University Psychiatric Services Bern in Switzerland, who was not involved in the study.
Jan Born, a neuroscientist at the University of Tübingen in Germany who also did not take part in this research, points out that while this study provides convincing evidence that people can learn new information during REM sleep, presenting acoustic stimuli to someone while they sleep might alter their sleep states, meaning that "you can't be sure that it's really [during] REM sleep that the brain is learning, or if it's a kind of local wake-state that the brain goes into."
While this study provides evidence that novel information can be learned during sleep, Andrillon points out that this does not mean we can learn more complex stimuli while catching our Z's.
"So far, we cannot tell whether this can be applied to other types of memories that may be more interesting, such as learning a new language," he says. While other studies have found that humans can be conditioned to associate tones with odors during sleep, most studies to date find that the slumbering brain is unable to learn more complex memories, such as facts and events.
"[This study] could have broader implications, especially in this new endeavor to manipulate sleep," Andrillon says, referencing the recent surge in devices companies have developed to record, and in some cases, alter, sleeping habits. However, he adds, "I think it's very important to first understand the complexity of it."

Sleep and memory are deeply related, but the nature of the neuroplastic processes induced by sleep remains unclear. Here, we report that memory traces can be both formed or suppressed during sleep, depending on sleep phase. We played samples of acoustic noise to sleeping human listeners. Repeated exposure to a novel noise during Rapid Eye Movements (REM) or light non-REM (NREM) sleep leads to improvements in behavioral performance upon awakening. Strikingly, the same exposure during deep NREM sleep leads to impaired performance upon awakening. Electroencephalographic markers of learning extracted during sleep confirm a dissociation between sleep facilitating memory formation (light NREM and REM sleep) and sleep suppressing learning (deep NREM sleep). We can trace these neural changes back to transient sleep events, such as spindles for memory facilitation and slow waves for suppression. The extraordinary payouts of earnings leave the banks’ capital position too weak to support more lending.

...McCain. McCain is the epitome of the reason that term limits should be placed upon representatives. McCain is the prime example of why a Special Investigative Unit is needed. Really? Champion McCain, just coming off of the deck from brain surgery in the 13th round, to score a knockout against the American people? Who lined his pockets? Who? Was it the insurance companies, or was it Soros? Where do we find the individuals who will not be bought to investigate this matter?
We will never be allowed to have such special personnel to investigate a matter such as McCain’s “vote”: this is because the people are not in charge. We are ruled, not governed.
McCain was the one who orchestrated the ousting of the duly elected President of Ukraine, Yanukoyvich, who was elected under Ukrainian Constitutional law. Is that in itself not a violation of the Logan Act? Oh, but since McCain and company were acting on behalf of the American people as their elected officials, it’s all well and good, then.
McCain is part of the bigger picture, and look at the titanic struggle that has already transpired for clarification: the struggle between the establishment to impose an individual mandate, and the public to resist it. The vote? It is scripted at this point.
McConnell and Ryan all “ooh’s” and “aah’s” with the Don Adams/Agent 86 line: “Missed it by that much!”
Wrong. They didn’t miss a beat. All of the Congress (in this latest vote…the word “vote,” what a joke) with a final tally of 49-51…making it appear to be a close one. They only did it that way to not unseat half of Congress (Republican or not), and the Republicans who voted to repeal could point at it, “They voted to repeal”…when the failed vote was a done deal long before it came to the floor. McCain did his job for the Establishment, and he’ll be on his way out of the Senate to retire soon enough…. andvoila! The individual mandate remains.
The individual mandate is the prize they have fought for more than 100 years. They will not relinquish that stranglehold from the throat of the American people. The steppingstone to a single-payer system, the individual mandate assures that you will be accountable to the State whether you are a housewife or a homeless beggar.
Of course, Congress, the Administration, the Courts, and the rest of the Politburo are exempt from the individual mandate, now, aren’t they?

US film director Oliver Stone has written a scathing Facebook post over Washington's passage of the Russia sanctions bill. He suggested that US intelligence agencies aren't doing their job and are misleading the public in the "false-flag war" against Moscow.
The post, which Stone titled 'Mid-Summer Anger,' begins by slamming Congress for passing the bill.
"I guess 'American Exceptionalism' includes the vast stupidity inherent in having two giant oceans to distance us from the rest of humanity," he wrote.
"With all the Apples and Microsofts and computer geniuses we have in our country, can we not even accept the possibility that perhaps our intelligence agencies are not doing their job, and maybe, just maybe, are deliberately misleading us to continue their false-flag war against Russia?
"Or for that matter, that Russia itself may not be that invested in screwing up our vaunted democracy with such sloppy malware as claimed?"

He went on to accuse those in Washington of not thinking independently, and instead blindly relying on mainstream media.
"Somebody out there in DC, please explain to me this omission of common sense. Are the Washington Post and the New York Times so powerful that no one bothers to read or think beyond them? It seems the TV stations in this country take their copy from them."
Stone said he hopes Europe can "independently judge and discard" the sanctions against Russia, which "are as dumb as giving out medals to Generals who keep losing wars."
The renowned film director went on to accuse Congress, the media, and the military-industrial complex of "literally dying" for a war.
"I now fully realize how World War I started. People in power never really thought it would happen, and when it did, thought it’d be over in weeks. You should know the rest of that history. It doesn’t end well," Stone concluded.

The trouble, of course, is that even after the Deep State (a.k.a. “The Swamp”) succeeds in quicksanding President Trump, America will be left with itself — adrift among the cypress stumps, drained of purpose, spirit, hope, credibility, and, worst of all, a collective grasp on reality, lost in the fog of collapse.
Here’s what you need to know about what’s going on and where we’re headed...
The underlying issue is the scale of human activity in our time. It has exceeded its limits and we have to tune back a lot of what we do. Anything organized at the giant scale is headed for failure, so it comes down to a choice between outright collapse or severe re-scaling, which you might think of as managed contraction. That goes for government programs, military adventures, corporate enterprise, education, transportation, health care, agriculture, urban design, basically everything. There is an unfortunate human inclination to not reform, revise, or re-scale familiar activities. We’ll use every kind of duct tape and baling wire we can find to keep the current systems operating, and we have, but we’re close to the point where that sort of cob-job maintenance won’t work anymore, especially where money is concerned.
Why this is so has been attributed to intrinsic human brain programming that supposedly evolved optimally for short-term planning. But obviously many people and institutions dedicate themselves to long-term thinking. So there must be a big emotional over-ride represented by the fear of letting go of what used to work that tends to disable long-term thinking. It’s hard to accept that our set-up is about to stop working — especially something as marvelous as techno-industrial society.
But that’s exactly what’s happening. If you want a chance at keeping on keeping on, you’ll have to get with reality’s program. Start by choosing a place to live that has some prospect of remaining civilized. This probably doesn’t include our big cities. But there are plenty of small cities and small towns out in America that are scaled for the resource realities of the future, waiting to be reinhabited and reactivated. A lot of these lie along the country’s inland waterways — the Ohio, Mississippi, Missouri river system, the Great Lakes, the Hudson and St. Lawrence corridors — and they also exist in regions of the country were food can be grown.
You’ll have to shift your energies into a trade or vocation that makes you useful to other people. This probably precludes jobs like developing phone apps, day-trading, and teaching gender studies. Think: carpentry, blacksmithing, basic medicine, mule-breeding, simplified small retail, and especially farming, along with the value-added activities entailed in farm production. The entire digital economy is going to fade away like a drug-induced hallucination, so beware the current narcissistic blandishments of computer technology. Keep in mind that being in this world actually entitles you to nothing. One way or another, you’ll have to earn everything worth having, including self-respect and your next meal.

In January 2016 we reported on a scientific analysis finding that by 2050, there will be more plastic in the oceans than fish. Right now, one garbage truck of plastic is being dumped into the ocean every minute.
This disturbing reality is underscored by the recent discovery of another giant patch of plastic—bigger than Mexico—floating in the South Pacific Sea. It was discovered by Captain Charles Moore, who found the North Pacific Garbage Patch in 1997.
A team of scientists has confirmed the existence of another ocean garbage patch, this time in a remote area of the South Pacific. Unlike the famous patch in the northern Pacific Ocean, which has long been one of the world’s most recognizable symbols of pollution, the new patch is in an area that had previously been largely unstudied.
The high degree of plastic pollution was uncovered by captain Charles Moore and his team of volunteer researchers on a six-month voyage: ‘We discovered tremendous quantities of plastic. My initial impression is that our samples compared to what we were seeing in the North Pacific in 2007, so it’s about ten years behind,’ said Moore, who has worked to raise awareness about plastic pollution since he stumbled across the North Pacific patch while captaining a racing yacht in the 1990s. Moore says the southern patch could be as big as a million square kilometers, 1.5 times the size of Texas.
The size is estimated by collecting samples along transects crossing the study area. This is only the second time plastic pollution has been studied in this remote area, with the first sampling done in 2011. Not much plastic was found in the single transect sampled in 2011, but the latest, more comprehensive study—involving many transects over multiple months—reveals that the South Pacific Gyre has quickly become yet another symbol of the plastic problem.
The South Pacific plastic patch is comprised mostly of microplastic particles resembling confetti. Abstract
The occurrence of microplastics (MPs) in saltwater bodies is relatively well studied, but nothing is known about their presence in most of the commercial salts that are widely consumed by humans across the globe. Here, we extracted MP-like particles larger than 149?µm from 17 salt brands originating from 8 different countries followed by the identification of their polymer composition using micro-Raman spectroscopy. Microplastics were absent in one brand while others contained between 1 to 10?MPs/Kg of salt. Out of the 72 extracted particles, 41.6% were plastic polymers, 23.6% were pigments, 5.50% were amorphous carbon, and 29.1% remained unidentified. The particle size (mean?±?SD) was 515?±?171?µm. The most common plastic polymers were polypropylene (40.0%) and polyethylene (33.3%). Fragments were the primary form of MPs (63.8%) followed by filaments (25.6%) and films (10.6%). According to our results, the low level of anthropogenic particles intake from the salts (maximum 37 particles per individual per annum) warrants negligible health impacts. However, to better understand the health risks associated with salt consumption, further development in extraction protocols are needed to isolate anthropogenic particles smaller than 149?µm.

Scientists have discovered a way to convert nuclear waste into radioactive black diamond batteries which last more than 5,000 years.
Researchers at the University of Bristol have found a means of creating a battery capable of generating clean electricity for five millennia, or as long as human civilization has existed.
Scientists found that by heating graphite blocks – used to house uranium rods in nuclear reactors – much of the radioactive carbon is given off as a gas.
This can then be gathered and turned into radioactive diamonds using a high-temperature chemical reaction, in which carbon atoms are left on the surface in small, dark-colored diamond crystals.
These man-made diamonds produce a small electrical charge when placed near a radioactive source.
The radioactive diamonds are then encased safely within a layer of non-radioactive diamond. The surface of a complete diamond emits less radiation than a banana.
The Bristol scientists have already created a working diamond battery from nickel-63, a radioactive isotope more stable than carbon-14, which is prevalent in nuclear waste.
They will create their first carbon-14 batteries in the New Year.
“There are no moving parts involved, no emissions generated and no maintenance required, just direct electricity generation,” said Tom Scott, Professor in Materials at the University of Bristol Interface Analysis Centre.
“By encapsulating radioactive material inside diamonds, we turn a long-term problem of nuclear waste into a nuclear-powered battery and a long-term supply of clean energy.”
A diamond battery containing 20g of carbon-14 would deliver a small electrical charge of 300 joules per day. By contrast, an AA battery outputs 14,000 joules per day.
Scientists at NASA are reportedly interested in using the technology in space flight, while tech firms could incorporate the batteries into smaller, internet-enabled devices.

This animation shows every recorded earthquake
in sequence as they occurred from January 1, 2001, through
December 31, 2015, at a rate of 30 days per second. The
earthquake hypocenters first appear as flashes then remain as
colored circles before shrinking with time so as not to
obscure subsequent earthquakes. The size of the circle
represents the earthquake magnitude while the color represents
its depth within the earth. At the end of the animation it
will first show all quakes in this 15-year period. Next, it
will show only those earthquakes greater than magnitude 6.5,
the smallest earthquake size known to make a tsunami. Finally
it will only show those earthquakes with magnitudes of
magnitude 8.0 or larger, the “great” earthquakes most likely
to pose a tsunami threat when they occur under the ocean or
near a coastline and when they are shallow within the earth
(less than 100 km or 60 mi. deep).
This time period includes some remarkable events. Several large earthquakes caused devastating tsunamis, including 9.1 magnitude in Sumatra (26 December 2004), 8.1 magnitude in Samoa (29 September 2009), 8.8 magnitude in Chile (27 February 2010), and 9.0 magnitude off of Japan (11 March 2011). Internal Monsanto documents released by attorneys leading US cancer litigation show that the company launched a concerted campaign to force the retraction of a study that revealed toxic effects of Roundup. The documents also show that the editor of the journal that first published the study entered into a contract with Monsanto in the period shortly before the retraction campaign began.
The study, led by Prof GE Séralini, showed that very low doses of Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide had toxic effects on rats over a long-term period, including serious liver and kidney damage. Additional observations of increased tumour rates in treated rats would need to be confirmed in a larger-scale carcinogenicity study.
The newly released documents show that throughout the retraction campaign, Monsanto tried to cover its tracks to hide its involvement. Abstract
Background
The health effects of a Roundup-tolerant NK603 genetically modified (GM) maize(from 11% in the diet), cultivated with or without Roundup application and Roundup alone (from 0.1 ppb of the full pesticide containing glyphosate and adjuvants) in drinking water, were evaluated for 2 years in rats. This study constitutes afollow-up investigation of a 90-day feeding study conducted by Monsanto in order to obtain commercial release of this GMO, employing the same rat strain and analyzing biochemical parameters on the same number of animals per group as our investigation. Our research represents the first chronic study on these substances, in which all observations including tumors are reported chronologically. Thus, it was not designed as a carcinogenicity study. We report the major findings with 34 organs observed and 56 parameters analyzed at 11 time points for most organs.
Results
Biochemical analyses confirmed very significant chronic kidney deficiencies, for all treatments and both sexes; 76% of the altered parameters were kidney-related.In treated males, liver congestions and necrosis were 2.5 to 5.5 times higher.Marked and severe nephropathies were also generally 1.3 to 2.3 times greater. In females, all treatment groups showed a two- to threefold increase in mortality,and deaths were earlier. This difference was also evident in three male groups fedwith GM maize. All results were hormone- and sex-dependent, and the pathological profiles were comparable. Females developed large mammary tumors more frequently and before controls; the pituitary was the second most disabled organ; the sex hormonal balance was modified by consumption of GM maize and Roundup treatments.Males presented up to four times more large palpable tumors starting 600 days earlier than in the control group, in which only one tumor was noted. These results may be explained by not only the non-linear endocrine-disrupting effects of Roundup but also by the overexpression of the EPSPS transgene or other mutational effects in the GM maize and their metabolic consequences.
Conclusion
Our findings imply that long-term (2 year) feeding trials need to be conducted to thoroughly evaluate the safety of GM foods and pesticides in their full commercial formulations.

There is considerable scientific interest in understanding how cell assemblies—the long-presumed computational motif—are organized so that the brain can generate intelligent cognition and flexible behavior. The Theory of Connectivity proposes that the origin of intelligence is rooted in a power-of-two-based permutation logic (N = 2i–1), producing specific-to-general cell-assembly architecture capable of generating specific perceptions and memories, as well as generalized knowledge and flexible actions. We show that this power-of-two-based permutation logic is widely used in cortical and subcortical circuits across animal species and is conserved for the processing of a variety of cognitive modalities including appetitive, emotional and social information. However, modulatory neurons, such as dopaminergic (DA) neurons, use a simpler logic despite their distinct subtypes. Interestingly, this specific-to-general permutation logic remained largely intact although NMDA receptors—the synaptic switch for learning and memory—were deleted throughout adulthood, suggesting that the logic is developmentally pre-configured. Moreover, this computational logic is implemented in the cortex via combining a random-connectivity strategy in superficial layers 2/3 with nonrandom organizations in deep layers 5/6. This randomness of layers 2/3 cliques—which preferentially encode specific and low-combinatorial features and project inter-cortically—is ideal for maximizing cross-modality novel pattern-extraction, pattern-discrimination and pattern-categorization using sparse code, consequently explaining why it requires hippocampal offline-consolidation. In contrast, the nonrandomness in layers 5/6—which consists of few specific cliques but a higher portion of more general cliques projecting mostly to subcortical systems—is ideal for feedback-control of motivation, emotion, consciousness and behaviors. These observations suggest that the brain’s basic computational algorithm is indeed organized by the power-of-two-based permutation logic. This simple mathematical logic can account for brain computation across the entire evolutionary spectrum, ranging from the simplest neural networks to the most complex.

Scientists discover new magnet with nearly massless charge carriers
Advances in modern electronics has demanded the requisite hardware, transistors, to be smaller in each new iteration. Recent progress in nanotechnology has reduced the size of silicon transistors down to the order of 10 nanometers. However, for such small transistors, other physical effects set in, which limit their functionality. For example, the power consumption and heat production in these devices is creating significant problems for device design. Therefore, novel quantum materials and device concepts are required to develop a new generation of energy-saving information technology. The recent discoveries of topological materials -- a new class of relativistic quantum materials -- hold great promise for use in energy saving electronics.
Researchers in the Louisiana Consortium for Neutron Scattering, or LaCNS, led by LSU Department of Physics & Astronomy Chair and Professor John F. DiTusa and Tulane University Professor Zhiqiang Mao, with collaborators at Oak Ridge National Lab, the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, Florida State University, and the University of New Orleans, recently reported the first observation of this topological behavior in a magnet, Sr1-yMn1-zSb2 (y, z < 0.1). These results were published this week in Nature Materials (doi:10.1038/nmat4953).
"This first observation is a significant milestone in the advancement of novel quantum materials and this discovery opens the opportunity to explore its consequences. The nearly massless behavior of the charge carriers offers possibilities for novel device concepts taking advantage of the extremely low power dissipation," DiTusa said.
The phrase "topological materials" refers to materials where the current carrying electrons act as if they have no mass similar to the properties of photons, the particles that make up light. Amazingly, these electronic states are robust and immune to defects and disorder because they are protected from scattering by symmetry. This symmetry protection results in exceedingly high charge carrier mobility, creating little to no resistance to current flow. The result is expected to be a substantial reduction in heat production and energy saving efficiencies in electronic devices.
This new magnet displays electronic charge carriers that have almost no mass. The magnetism brings with it an important symmetry breaking property - time reversal symmetry, or TRS, breaking where the ability to run time backward would no longer return the system back to its starting conditions. The combination of relativistic electron behavior, which is the cause of much reduced charge carrier mass, and TRS breaking has been predicted to cause even more unusual behavior, the much sought after magnetic Weyl semimetal phase. The material discovered by this collaboration is thought to be an excellent one to investigate for evidence of the Weyl phase and to uncover its consequences.

Abstract
We complement an “Extended Consensus” [1], focused on the individual’s health, by documenting associations between the human heart and circulation and the environment near and far at the level of local and global populations in both space and time [2, 3]. Life in the atmosphere of the sun [4] mimics its inanimate surroundings; its rhythmic components nearly match in length the cycles of the cosmos [5-15]. Longitudinal records of the human blood circulation reveal heretofore unrecognized aspects of its variability. The view from a very few long and relatively dense series, covering mostly around-the-clock (up to) decades on individuals, reveals variability that cannot readily or necessarily be found in hundreds of thousands of individuals’ around-the-clock 24-hour spotchecks and certainly not in single samples, unless the individuals’ cycles are synchronized and assessed on a population basis.
Periods, t, longer than 28 hours, that is infradian variations, like the circadians (with tentatively between 20 and 28 hours), have entered the genome and their characteristics await mapping. For those cycles that are already mapped, we consider further the extent to which the parameters and nonparametric endpoints of healthy infradian and circadian variability and their anomalies can become everyday measures of Sir William Osler’s wear and tear, i.e., of Hans Selye’s and Paul Rosch’s stress and strain to the point of becoming gauges of distress (again complementing or replacing single samples or the mean values of dense sampling during single days). Criteria for recognizing and quantifying the alteration indicating when a load changes from benetensive to maletensive have yet to be identified, perhaps by monitoring blood pressure and heart rate in everyday life, replacing spotchecks in the clinic.
The probable role of cosmos-induced loads in pathogenesis, assessed, among others, as an effect of a magnetic storm in laboratory animals [16-18] and in humans [19], awaits study by using superposed epochs and a subtraction and addition approach [2, 3].

Abstract
Our environment includes many natural and artificial agents affecting any person on the Earth in one way or other. This work is focused on two of them - weather and space weather, which are permanently effective. Their cumulative effect is proved by means of the modeling. It is shown that combination of geomagnetic and solar indices and weather strength parameter (which includes six main meteorological parameters) correlates with health state significantly better (up to R=0.7), than separate environmental parameters do. The typical shape of any health characteristics' time-series during human body reaction to any negative impact represents a curve, well-known in medicine as a General Adaptation Syndrome curve by Hans Selye. We demonstrate this on the base of blood pressure time-series and acupunctural experiment data, averaged by group. The first stage of adaptive stress-reaction (resistance to stress) is sometimes observed 1-2 days before geomagnetic storm onset. The effect of "outstripping reaction to magnetic storm", named Tchizhevsky- Velkhover effect, had been known for many years, but its explanation was obtained recently due to the consideration of the near-Earth space plasma processes. It was shown that lowfrequency variations of the solar wind density on a background of the density growth can stimulate the development of the geomagnetic filed (GMF) variations of the wide frequency range. These variations seem to have "bioeffective frequencies", resonant with own frequencies of body organs and systems. The mechanism of human body reaction is supposed to be a parametrical resonance in low-frequency range (which is determined by the resonance in large-scale organs and systems) and a simple forced resonance in GHz-range of variations (the resonance of micro-objects in the organism such as DNA, cell membranes, blood ions etc.) Given examples of mass-reaction of the objects to ULF-range GMF variations during quiet space weather time prove this hypothesis.

There is an invariable first rule of propaganda: know exactly what your agenda is, and then design every statement to forward that agenda.
The World Health Organization is now touting a measles epidemic in Europe. And of course, they’re explaining it with propaganda—it’s the fault of people who refuse to allow their children to take the measles vaccination.
The focus is on Italy, where, “coincidently,” protesters are outraged at a new law mandating vaccination for children. Perfect. “You see? Don’t take the shot and this is what you get. A massive outbreak.”
Well, here is an official report. In Italy, there are 3300 case of measles and two deaths.
That’s the classic and traditional and age-old picture of measles. 3298 children have survived. Kids get measles, they recover, and thereafter they’re immune.
As for the two children who died, you would have to do a very careful independent investigation, to determine what health problems they may have had before they contracted measles. And “health problems” would include prior toxic medical treatment. The actual cause of death isn’t always what health authorities say it is.
In addition to the above, here are two revealing quotes to consider:
“…the window of vulnerability of an infant may be even greater in vaccinated women than in with women with natural measles infection.” (Am. J. Trop. Med. Hyg., 79(5), 2008, pp. 787–792).
Translation: Measles occurring in infants—which is unusual and dangerous—is more likely to occur when the mother has been vaccinated against measles. Why? Because, as a result of her being vaccinated, she no longer passes down, to her child, the natural components of immunity to measles from her having had the disease. And the vaccination she received didn’t confer immunity to her baby.
“Administration of KMV (killed measles vaccine) apparently set in motion an aberrant immunologic response that not only failed to protect children against natural measles, but resulted in heightened susceptibility.” JAMA Aug. 22, 1980, vol. 244, p. 804, Vincent Fulginiti and Ray Helfer. The authors indicate that such children can come down with “an often severe, atypical form of measles. Atypical measles is characterized by fever, headache… and a diverse rash (which)… may consist of a mixture of macules, papules, vesicles, and pustules… ”
In other words, the measles vaccine can create a worse form of measles. This is not the normal form of the illness, from which children routinely recover with the bonus of lifetime immunity. No, this is a severe, atypical, dangerous, synthetic, vaccine-induced disease.
Does all this mean the health authorities in Europe aren’t telling the whole story, are twisting the truth?
I’m shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

At the same time, the CDC is in charge of doing key studies to test the safety and efficacy of those vaccines. In a bid to solve the international famine problem, scientists in Finland have managed to produce protein using unorthodox methods. The first batch of protein produced using electricity and carbon dioxide is expected to become a forerunner for future hunger relief solutions.
The new revolutionary method, which is a collaboration between the Lappeenranta University of Technology and the Technical Research Centre of Finland (VTT) makes it possible to generate the nutrient virtually anywhere energy is available, which is projected to become a sustainable solution to famine and the earth's environmental problems. Additionally, the electricity-generated protein could also be used as animal feed, which would help release cropland for forestry, Finnish national broadcaster Yle reported.
"All the ingredients are practically taken from the air. Therefore, this technology can in the future be used in, say, deserts or other areas where there is a food shortage. Another alternative could be a kind of household appliance that allows consumers to produce protein for their own needs," leading VTT researcher Juha-Pekka Pitkänen told the Finnish daily Hufvudstadsbladet.
Furthermore, the research team estimated that energy from the sun can be used up to 10 times more efficiently than it is at present. Today's protein-producing processes rely primarily on photosynthesis in plants, such as soybeans. According to Pitkänen, the Finnish method is a more direct path to the sun's power compared with photosynthesis. As a rule, single-cell organisms are predominantly protein and 20 percent carbohydrates.
According to Lappeenranta Technology University professor Jero Ahola, the new production method does not require specific conditions with an exact temperature, humidity or soil type. Additionally, it could potentially become completely automatized.
"It requires no pest-control substance, and it allows us to avoid environmental footprint, such as leaks into water systems or the formation of powerful greenhouse gases," Jero Ahola said.
At present, the main obstacle is the relatively slow production rate, which has to be sped up for the product to become more competitive. Today, the production of 1 gram of protein takes around two weeks.
According to Pitkänen, the ultimate goal is to establish a container-sized facility than can produce up to five kilos of single-celled protein a day. It will take be another two to three years before the new unit is up and running, Pitkänen argued. Then, the plan is to scale up by constructing more containers and increasing the size of the reactors. Hopefully, the project will reach its full commercial potential in 10 years.
The joint Food from Electricity study is part of the wide-ranging Neo-Carbon Energy research project in Finland that seeks to develop a completely renewable and emission-free energy system. The study is funded by the Academy of Finland and will run for four years.

In the UK, around 20,000 tonnes of aluminium foil packaging is wasted each year -- enough to stretch to the moon and back. Most of this is landfilled or incinerated as it's usually contaminated by grease and oils, which can damage recycling equipment.
However, Ahmed Osman, an Early Career Researcher from Queen's University's School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, has worked with engineers at the university to create an innovative crystallisation method, which obtains 100% pure single crystals of aluminium salts from the contaminated foil. This is the starting material for the preparation of alumina catalyst.
Usually, to produce this type of alumina it would have to come from bauxite ore, which is mined in countries such as West Africa, the West Indies and Australia, causing huge environmental damage.
Osman, who took on the project under the University's Sustainable Energy, Pioneering Research Programme, has created a solution which is much more environmentally-friendly, effective and cheaper than the commercial catalyst which is currently available on the market for the production of dimethyl ether -- a biofuel which is regarded as the most promising of the 21st century. Osman says making the catalyst from aluminium foil cost about £120/kg while the commercial alumina catalyst comes in at around £305/kg.
Its unique thermal, chemical and mechanical stability means it can also be used as an absorbent, in electronic device fabrication, as a cutting tool material or as an alternative for surgical material for implants.
The ground-breaking research has been published in Nature Scientific Reports.
Osman commented: "I have always been inspired by Chemistry and I believe that catalysis especially can make the world a better place. One day I took a walk through our laboratories at Queen's and found lots of Aluminium foil waste so I did a little digging and after speaking to my colleagues, I ran my experiment and was astonished by the ultrapure single crystals -- I didn't expect it to be 100% pure.
"At Queen's, our scientists and engineers often work hand in hand on common challenging problems for the society. By using our joint expertise, we have been able to tackle the issue of sustainable development and come up with a research solution which lies in an area between chemistry and chemical engineering.
"This breakthrough is significant as not only is the alumina more pure than its commercial counterpart, it could also reduce the amount of aluminium foil going to landfill while also sidestepping the environmental damage associated with mining bauxite."
Osman is hoping to continue his research into how these catalysts can be further improved and explore the opportunities for commercialisation of biofuel production or use the modified alumina catalyst in the catalytic converters in natural gas vehicles.

Abstract
A novel green preparation route to prepare nano-mesoporous ?-Al2O3 from AlCl3.6H2O derived from aluminum foil waste and designated as ACFL550 is demonstrated, which showed higher surface area, larger pore volume, stronger acidity and higher surface area compared to ?-Al2O3 that is produced from the commercial AlCl3 precursor, AC550. The produced crystalline AlCl3.6H2O and Al(NO3)3.9H2O in the first stage of the preparation method were characterized by single-crystal XRD, giving two crystal structures, a trigonal (R-3c) and monoclinic (P21/c) structure, respectively. EDX analysis showed that ACFL550 had half the chlorine content (Cl%) relative to AC550, which makes ACFL550 a promising catalyst in acid-catalysed reactions. Pure and modified ACFL550 and AC550 were applied in acid-catalysed reactions, the dehydration of methanol to dimethyl ether and the total methane oxidation reactions, respectively. It was found that ACFL550 showed higher catalytic activity than AC550. This work opens doors for the preparation of highly active and well-structured nano-mesoporous alumina catalysts/supports from aluminum foil waste and demonstrates its application in acid-catalysed reactions.
Introduction
Aluminum (Al) manufacture and expenditure are considered to be two sides of a coin and both are increasing. Aluminum is mainly produced from bauxite mines worldwide, reaching 270 million metric tonnes (Mt) in 2015 compared to 183 Mt in 20061. Conversely, the Al consumption approximately tripled from 2006 to 2015 by 45 to 120 Mt, respectively, with a growth rate of 4% per year. To meet the dramatic increase in the Al consumption, a large amount of bauxite production is needed, which generates significant levels of waste such as tailings, red mud, emissions of perfluorocarbon and CO2 gases during the production process. Recycling this Al waste is crucial for the environment; in fact, recycling 1 kg of Al saves 8 kg of bauxite, 4?kg of chemical products and 14?kW of electricity2. Al waste can be recycled to produce various useful products. Li et al.3 successfully prepared ?-Al2O3 from oil shale ash waste which consists of 10.66 wt% Al2O3; however, they used a high calcination temperature at 700–800?°C to remove residual organic compounds and expensive chemicals such as Eu(NO3)3, urea and surfactant. Chotisuwan et al.4 managed to prepare ?-Al2O3 at low calcination temperature (500?°C) from Al cans, however, they used a costly preparation method by using isopropanol and mercury iodide. Al foil is one of the biggest Al waste sources which is difficult to recycle; thus the end-of-life options are either landfilling or incineration5. The global Al foil market had a size of 3.4 Mt in 2010. In the UK alone in 2001, 160,000 t of Al waste were sent to landfill6. Converting the Al foil into useful products is an environmental issue; few efforts were performed in previous publications7. Recently, Al foil was used in H2 production by converting it into active Al powder that reacts with water producing H27 or by using Ca(OH)2 to remove the surface oxide layer and initiate the hydration reaction of Al foil8. Furthermore, a-Al2O3 was prepared at a low calcination temperature (1100?°C) for the industrial applications such as refractory materials, however, aqua regia was used during the preparation procedures, consequently, the release of NOx emissions is possible during the preparation, which is harmful to the environment9. Qin et al.10 demonstrated a facile and a robust method to prepare ordered anodic aluminum oxides with continuously tunable inter-pore distances. The produced AlCl3.6H2O and Al(NO3)3.9H2O were characterized by single crystal XRD and showed two different crystal structure, a trigonal (R-3c) and a monoclinic (P21/c), respectively. A green synthetic route was followed to prepare nano-mesoporous ?-Al2O3 from AlCl3.6H2O designated as ACFL550, which showed higher surface area, larger pore volume, stronger acidity and surface structure compared with the ?-Al2O3 that produced from the commercial AlCl3 precursor, AC550. EDX analysis showed that ACFL550 had half the chlorine content (Cl %) relative to AC550, which makes ACFL550 a promising catalyst in acid catalysed reactions. Pure and modified ACFL550 and AC550 were applied in acid catalysed reactions, the dehydration of methanol to dimethyl ether and the total methane oxidation reactions, respectively. It was found that ACFL550 showed higher catalytic activity than AC550 due to its superior surface structure and acidity. The modified ACFL550 showed higher activity in the TMO reaction with T50% at 303 ºC. These results open doors for the preparation of highly active and well-structured nano-mesoporous alumina catalyst/support from aluminum foil waste and its application in acid-catalysed reactions.
