oxyhalide bismuth catalyst in absolute ethyl alcohol under
ultrasonic oscillation, pouring the mixed solution onto the
surface of the thin membrane, and drying by air; mixing
chitosan and polyvinylpyrrolidone, and dispersing the
mixture; heating by acetic acid water solution, and stirring
for dissolving; feeding an aldehyde crosslinking agent for
crosslinking, and then pouring the product onto the
oxyhalide bismuth thin membrane to obtain the photoelectric
catalytic membrane. The photoelectric catalytic membrane is
used for preparing the hydrogen by decomposing water, and is
capable of effectively separating photoproduction electron
holes; the hydrogen production quantum efficiency reaches up
to 90-96%, the hydrogen purity reaches up to 99-99.9%, and
15-40% of energy consumption can be saved, so that a new way
is provided for preparing hydrogen by decomposing water
through photoelectrocatalysis.

That means it operates above "unity efficiency" -- putting
it into a category normally occupied by perpetual motion
machines.However, while MIT's diode puts out more than twice
as much energy in photons as it's fed in electrons, it
doesn't violate the conservation of energy because it
appears to draw in heat energy from its surroundings
instead. When it gets more than 100 percent
electrically-efficient, it begins to cool down, stealing
energy from its environment to convert into more photons.

Simple 'superlens' sharpens focusing power
A simple-to-make "superlens" can focus 10 times more
sharply than a conventional lens. It could shrink the size
of features on computer chips, or help power gadgets without
wires. No matter how powerful a conventional lens, it cannot
focus light down to more than about half its wavelength, the
"diffraction limit". This limits the amount of data that can
be stored on a CD, and the size of features on computer
chips. The new lens is a 127-micrometer-thick plate of
teflon and ceramic with a copper topping. "The beauty of
these is that they're planar," Grbic says, "they're easy to
fabricate." The lenses can be made through a single step of
photolithography, the process used to etch computer chips.
By selectively etching away the copper, Grbic and colleagues
created many capacitors sandwiched together. Capacitors are
typically used in electronics for storing electric charge
for short periods. In the lens, the capacitors instead
interact directly with electromagnetic waves like light.
This sets up currents in the capacitors that focus the waves
passing through the lens into a point 20 times smaller than
their wavelength. That is 10 times tighter than a
conventional lens can achieve, hampered by the diffraction
limit. The team's current prototype works on microwaves,
which are easier to focus because they have longer
wavelengths than visible light. Simply making capacitors of
different sizes would allow the lens to focus other
frequencies, including visible and infrared light, says
Grbic.

Gravitational Wave Generator Apparatus
An apparatus or structure is proposed
for generating high-frequency gravitational waves (HFGWs)
between pairs of force producing elements by means of the
simultaneous production of a third time derivative of mass
motion of the pair of force producing elements. The elements
are configured as a cylindrical array in the proposed
structure and are activated by a radiation wavefront moving
along the axis of symmetry of the array. The force-producing
elements can be micro-electromechanical systems or MEMS
resonators such as film-bulk acoustic resonators or FBARs. A
preferred cylindrical array is in the form of a double helix
and the activating radiation can be electromagnetic as
generated by microwave transmitters such as Magnetrons. As
the activating radiation wavefront moves along the axis of
the structure it simultaneously activates force elements on
opposite sides of the structure and thereby generates a
gravitational wave between the pair of force elements. It is
also indicated that the Earth is completely transparent to
the HFGWs. Thus a sensitive HFGW detector, such as the
Li-Baker under development by the Chinese, can sense the
generated HFGW at an Earth-diameter distance and could, in
theory, be a means for implementing transglobal HFGW

molecular basis of this activation to be determined. GRA24
is shown to be intrinsically disordered, binding two kinases

bypass the canonical mitogen-activated protein kinase
activation pathway. An adapted kinase interaction motif
(KIM) forms a highly stable complex that competes with
cytoplasmic regulatory partners. In addition, the
recombinant complex forms a powerful in vitro tool to
evaluate the specificity and effectiveness of p38a
inhibitors that have advanced to clinical trials, as it
provides a hitherto unavailable stable and highly active
form of p38a.

Abstract
What would most of us do with only three hours of
electricity per day? Yet that is what Dr. Sabiha Al-Jabbar
did when she was working on her PhD in Baghdad. She had to
design her experiments so that she could have the results
she needed before the lights went out. Dr. Al-Jabbar
suspected she would observe some of the properties of
superconductivity at room temperature in bismuth if she made
filaments by suspending colloids of the metal in hot molten
epoxy. She inserted copper pins in the solution and applied
voltage across them. Filaments formed between the pin
points. After they hardened, she passed current through
them. At some value of current, the resistance dropped to
near zero, as did the voltage. Her power supply, she
reports, blew a fuse at this point. She had become
accustomed to that and simply replaced it from a supply of
fuses she kept close by. Her power supply, she says, saw the
sudden entry into the high conducting state as an electrical
short and blew a fuse...

Epirubicin-Capped Silver Nanoparticles and Their
Anticancer Activity against Hep G2 Cells
Silver nitrate
(99.8%) was obtained from Aladdin (Shanghai, China).
Epirubicin (98%) was purchased from Melonepharma (Dalian,
China). Fetal calf serum (FCS) was purchased from Sijiqing
Co. (Hangzhou, China). Dulbecco’s modified eagle medium was
supplied by Gibco (Waltham, MA, USA).
3-(4,5-Dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide
(MTT) was obtained from Biosharp (Hefei, China). Ultra-pure
water used throughout the study was purified with the
Milli-Q system (Millipore, Bedford, MA, USA).
2.2.
Preparation of Epirubicin-Capped Silver NPs
Epirubicin-capped silver NPs were obtained using a green and
mild procedure [18,19]. First, a AgNO3-MilliQ water solution
(10−2 M) was heated till boiling at 120 °C under magnetic
stirring. Subsequently, an epirubicin solution was added to
obtain the final concentration of 10−4 (w/v). After reacting
at 120 °C for 1 h, the resultant epirubicin-capped silver
NPs were obtained. Subsequently, excess unreacted epirubicin
was removed by dialysis in ultra-pure water for 48 h
[20,21]. The final product was obtained by centrifugation at
10,000× g for 30 min...

Conclusions
In summary, we have presented a one-pot synthesis method for
fabricating epirubicin-capped silver NPs. The reaction was
accomplished by the fast chemical reaction between a silver
salt solution and epirubicin without using any surfactant,
thus making the method simple, green, and mild. The
resultant epirubicin-capped silver NPs exhibited a great
anticancer property at low dosage. Considering the
mechanisms of the synthesis method, the universality of the
proposed method should be further evaluated, which is an
ongoing study in our laboratory. Taken together, this
approach represents a new option for preparing drug-loaded
Ag NPs with a broad application prospect in clinic.

Preparation of leaf extract from A. vulgaris
Healthy and fresh leaves of A. vulgaris were collected...
The collected leaf was washed thoroughly with running tap
water followed by sterile distilled water. The leaves were
then kept in the shade to dry at room temperature for two
weeks, then were ground into a powder using a kitchen
blender.
The leaf broth solution was prepared by combining 10 g of
the final powder sample and 100 mL of distilled water,
then boiling at 60 ◦C for 30 min. The extract was then
filtered and collected in an Erlenmeyer flask and stored at

AuNPs were synthesized by a procedure modified from
Sathishkumar et al.
The filtrate, 10 mL of A. vulgari leaf extract was first mixed
with 90 mL of 1 mM aqueous solution of gold chloride
(HAuCl4) and left at rooM temperature to react. After 20
min, a change in solution color from yellow to purple/red
signified the reduction of Au3+ to Au0 nanoparticles. The
resulting AuNPs were incubated at room temperature for 24 h,
then purified by centrifugation at 10,000 rpm for 15min. The
pellet was purified by several washes in ethanol and
distilled water, then transferred to a Petri dish for
overnight drying at 30 ◦

MXene synthesis -- The material
used in this study was synthesized by selective etching
of Al atomic layers from Ti3AlC2. One gram of Ti3AlC2
powder (particle size, <44 μm; Carbon-Ukraine) was
gradually added to a 10 mL solution of 6 ml of 12 M
hydrochloric acid, 3 ml of 49% hydrofluoric acid
(Sigma-Aldrich), and 1 ml of deionized water (23). The
mixture was kept in an ice bath for 10 min and then
stirred for 24 hours at room temperature. After etching,
the mixture was washed five times by centrifugation in
two 150-ml plastic centrifuge tubes at 3500 rpm for 2
min until the pH of the supernatant reached 7 to 6.
After that, the sediment was added to a cold 20%
solution of lithium chloride (LiCl) in water. The
mixture was dispersed by manual shaking, stirred in an
ice bath for 10 min, and then stirred at room
temperature for 4 hours. After that, MXene was washed
three times until the supernatant becomes dark, which is
an indication of the beginning of delamination. The
unreacted Ti3AlC2 and large multilayered Ti3C2 particles
were separated by centrifugation at 3500 rpm for 1 min,
and the collected supernatant was used for spraying.

(22).

moment generating Brown's Gas onboard a vehicle, and
incredibly, they are pushing the idea that instead
of using a fossil fuel in the vehicle fuel tank

A study published in Applied Thermal Engineering
finds that Brown's Gas is a silver bullet for
modifying the fuel of HCCI engines, more than
doubling their fuel efficiency and eliminating
tailpipe emissions.
For the research a series of experiments were
conducted using homogeneous charge compression
ignition (HCCI) engines. HCCI is a form of internal
combustion using well mixed fuel and air which are
compressed to the point of auto ignition.
Water electrolysis gas (WEG) or Brown's Gas was
added as an auxiliary fuel to enhance heating
potential of the fuel mixture. The addition of
Brown's Gas was found to reduce the amount of
gasoline by 35%-40%.

Researchers of the study note that the "...addition
of Water Electrolysis Gas plays an important role to
generate strong enough power and efficient operation
by the combined effects of high heating potential
and fast burning velocity".
Brown's Gas is estimated to have 10-20x more power
potential than liquid gasoline.

"The high engine performance could be explained by
the combined effects of the high heating potential
of WEG, the reduced time of reaction by vaporized
gasoline and finally lean burn application with the
excess air."

Since the peak operating temperature were
significantly lower than spark ignition engines used
in most vehicles (100 C), NOx emissions and

Gas showed similar or better engine performance.

Performance of single cylinder engine shows fuel
efficiency more than double.
Abstract
The energy efficiency of internal combustion engine
reached to about 30% only recently. To increase the
efficiency, homogeneous charge compression ignition
(HCCI) has been proposed, however, there is no
available commercial engine yet. The main problem
lies in the delayed heating rate in spite of fast
reaction of homogeneous charged state of HCCI with
excess air. To overcome this difficulty, a
modification of fuel by vaporization of liquid
gasoline with water electrolysis gas and air was
adopted in order to warrant the fast and high
temperature rise. Experiments were carried out with
single cylinder engines supplied from the four
different manufacturers. Experimental results show
that fuel consumption was decreased by more than 50%
compared to the case of supplying liquid fuel. It is
believed it was due to the combined effects of the
high and fast heating potential of water
electrolysis gas together with the efficient
turbulence mixing effect of vaporized fuel with
excess air. By this method, the drawbacks caused by
lean burn in the HCCI engine such as small power
range can be overcome.

smaller probability, some other particles which are

The importance of the pesudoproton is that, having a
meanlife of the order of seconds (like the neutron),
it permits industrial applications, such as the
first study of nuclear energies without harmful
radiations via the new transmutation of “light
natural, stable elements” into “light natural and
stable elements with smaller mass” negatively
charged pseudodeuterium nucleus.
A reason for the lack of achievement of the
controlled nuclear fusion to date is that nuclei
repel each other due to their positive charges with
